Problems in Bayern Munich
October 4th 2010 18:01
Just last sunday, Bayern Munich lost to Dortmund 2 to 0, which sees them 13 points away from the leaders Mainz, having only collected 8 points from 7 games, and are lying a lowly 12th in the table.
What has happened to Bayern since the Champions League final last season?
Despite having over 60 percent possession in most of their games, they haven seemed to be posing enough attacking threat, and are the current lowest scorers in the Bundesliga, despite having a internationally renowned striker, Miroslav Klose, and the most expensive player in the history of the Bundesliga, Mario Gomez.
Could it be because of the loss of Robben and Ribery, the club's two most influential players, which only goes to show that Bayern are a one or two man team?
Or could it be because of the hangover of the recent 2009 to 2010 campaign, which Bayern went very far, and the players feel that they have already managed to achieve almost everything?
Or is it because Bayern's tactics have become too predictable and clubs are able to counter the tactics?
Just today, Coach Louis Van Gaal has just cancelled the team's Oktoberfest visit and replaced it with a training session, which signifies how angry he is with the situation.
At least they won't lose next week.
